![]() ![]() For me, addons are very important for various reasons. And that’s after 2 years since it’s release on Xbox. ![]() But for those of us who do, and have invested a lot of money on them, it’s a very disappointing experience. ![]() You don’t use add-on airports, that’s fine. What is bizarre, is that there is so much inconsistentsy when using addons. Shame this thread has turned into that really.Īgain, base Sim is fine. This has been discussed many times before. We all know the PC can get lots of mods and have very good graphics if you pay the high price of a PC. The rest of us are either going to eventually give up or spend an order of magnitude more buying high end PC systems to satisfy that thirst. If you can be happy like that then you’ll have a much better experience. So my advice for xbox users is to just stay out of the marketplace except for buying planes. Back then it worked as well, so I bought a few more. I decided to buy the 3rd party version and it was stunning, made such a difference. Then SU7 arrived and completely trashed my local airport, to the point where I didn’t enjoy flying there because a multiple award winning airport was now really ugly. When I first bought the sim I saw the price of airports and initially thought people must be mad to spend that much money on a single airport when the whole world could be bought with the sim for just a few times more. IMO the value proposition of the default sim on xbox is unbeatable, and for anyone happy with that then all good for them. Yes this variability aspect, which also happens on PC, is just as frustrating as the failures themselves. ![]() Maybe pure luck or the way I use the SIM, I have no clue. I have repeated myself in the past but I have never had a CTD or a black screen since SU12. As far as PMDG all I hear is that their DC-6 performs flawlessly on console so I am not completely sure that the 737 will not be something we can enjoy. Another thing to consider is that buying as we are forced to from the Marketplace as the added benefit that we can transfer those to a PC in the future and I bet in a few years time the SIM will fly really smooth on systems that won’t break the bank. I feel for those that have spent lots of money on add-ons but hopefully we will see those improve and in the meantime it pays to be cautious a little and read some reviews. Pyregue airports are a clear example that nice medium size airports can work perfectly on a console. I feel that lots of developers are not considering XBOX and sell stuff that is far from optimised. I feel that for the price we invested the SIM is far from perfect but it is fantastic. I use XBOX only for the SIM, I fly up to 2 hours flights max and always QUIT and restart the SIM. Now on the ATR which feels lighter on FPS and having a great time with no issues. On my XBOX really smooth and a great experience. Otherwise I have lots of nice 3rd party ( LIML, Pyregue airports, KSAN, LIRA, EGGW and a few more ) I have mostly flow the A310 with no issues and this is an airplane that some on PC found very heavy on FPS. I do use 3rd party airports but avoid large hubs as I know they do slow FPS and at times you feel you are crawling with low FPS. I do read these comments as I regularly fly the SIM on XBOX X. I must be on a different SIM than most people commenting here. ![]()
